Nisei Week Tournament

Yesterday, Costa Mesa Kendo Dojo participated in the Nisei Week Kyu Tournament. Lui Suzuki placed 2nd in the 10 and under division. Congratulations.

In a post tournament lesson, Yamaguchi Sensei stated that our Kenshi need more kakari geiko. Hosokawa Yuji Sensei then added, "I told you guys!". Yamaguchi Sensei continued on to tell our Kenshi that multiple short rigorous practice is better for training than a long easy practice.

Just as a reminder, there will be a Kendo demonstration in Irvine this weekend. If you have not already been asked to help out, and would like to, please see Hosokawa Yuji Sensei.

Kiju agreed on having more kakari-geiko. (then Kiju almost passed out on Monday practice when Yuji sensei DID have more kakari-geiko...)

Congratulations Lui!
I thought everyone (Minami, Richard, Allyson, Allek, Lui) did really well.
It'll be a valuable experience for everyone who participated.

Congratulations to Lui! I'll have some pictures posted up within the next couple weeks from the tournament of some of you guys...and gal. Maybe I'll play paparazzi at your demo this Sunday, since I live close by. ;)
