The Passing of Matsuyama-sensei

We were surprised to hear tonight about the passing of one of Costa Mesa Kendo Dojo's founding sensei.

While we were gathered at practice, family and friends of the Matsuyama family attended the Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple to discuss his funeral plans.

We don't have much more information than that Matsuyama-sensei passed away yesterday, ironically, on the same day this blog was created.

As we learn more, we'll post the information to this blog.

Matsuyama sensei's definitely one of the nicest persons I have ever met. His kendo reflected every bit of his kindness. I have & will miss his smile.

It's interesting to ponder if any of the young kids today will think of us when it's our time, say, 40-50 years later.
